General Thoughts: Are you looking for an adventurous rom-com with great witty banter, dislike to like trope, fun characters, and strong Indiana Jones/ Atlantis/ Road to El Dorado vibes? This one has you covered.

This is the first Camilla Isley book, and it won’t be the last. It’s predictable, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want in a romance. I enjoyed this one from the very first page to the very last one. I went in knowing nothing about the author or the book, but I am glad I took a chance on this cute, heartwarming read.

If you’re looking for a lighthearted rom-com with a pinch of suspense and intrigue set against an Indiana Jones adventure-like vibe, this is a great one. The writing was solid as well. Can’t wait to read more by her.

My complaint is that the MMC comes across as a misogynist at first, but I never really thought he was. I know that bugged a lot of readers, but for me, I just felt he’d been burned and wasn’t excited to have a woman interfere with his important expedition. It didn’t bug me, but it also could have been fleshed out more, I suppose.
